Open Position: Part-time Outreach Coordinator for Louisiana Central's Healthcare Career Central Program

Job Summary:

The Healthcare Career Central program collaboratively links employers, training providers and other partners to students, teachers, counselors and parents through a central website, social media campaign, ongoing communication and networking events. The goal is to expose more students to the diverse local careers in healthcare, the pathways to those careers, and the resources available along the way.
 
Louisiana Central is seeking a part-time Healthcare Career Central Outreach Coordinator. This position will work directly with healthcare providers and training providers to develop innovative opportunities to expose more students to healthcare facilities as well as existing career exploration, healthcare clubs, internships, speakers, and job shadowing opportunities. The outreach coordinator is a contract position that will report directly to the Director of Healthcare Career Central.

 

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • A minimum of three years of professional work experience
  • Experience and/or special training in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Healthcare, or Education preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Works well independently in fluid and varied situations
  • Self-starter, self-manage, accountable
  • Excellent data entry and computer skills
  • Organization and time management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with healthcare stakeholders to ensure that all are aware and able to avail themselves of program offerings 
  • Connect education stakeholders and their students to program offerings and opportunities
  • Work directly with partner agencies and other agencies and education providers to ensure that all healthcare career programming is included on the Healthcare Career Central website and is promoted to area schools, etc.
  • Identify barriers and work with program director to address barriers
  • Provide one-on-one counseling and training session as needed
  • Host workshops related to talent development/attraction for rural/small providers
  • Assist in target marketing and outreach campaigns
  • Maintain data and updates in the program's digital offerings
**This is a position that does require travel as needed throughout the ten-parish region including Allen, Avoyelles, Catahoula, Concordia, Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Rapides, Vernon, and Winn.**

Contract Payment:
  • The contractor will be compensated at $20.00 per hour for an average twenty hour week. In addition, the contractor will receive reimbursement for mileage driven base on the then-current IRS-approved rate. Payments will be made on a monthly basis upon receipt of invoice of documentation.
 
This project is funded by a Future of HealthC.A.R.E. Program Grant from The Rapides Foundation. Through its Future of HealthC.A.R.E. (Career, Academic Readiness and Exploration for Students) Program Grant, the Foundation seeks to increase the number of qualified Central Louisiana students enrolling in healthcare training programs or entering into the healthcare workforce. This grant provides funding for three years.
